Wow – June has been quite a challenge! A common expression in our house this past month: “It’s ALWAYS something.” Whether it’s been unexpected news, unexpected expenses, or one too many unexpected visits to the hospital (thankfully, all is well), this month has been filled with the unexpected. Man, you’d think that three weeks in Europe would’ve soothed my itchy feet for awhile, but lately I’ve had a crazy case of wanderlust, and right now, I’m downright feverish. I think my recent wanderlust has been exacerbated by a few things: leading up to the recent Memorial Day weekend we just celebrated stateside, my inbox was flooded with all sorts of travel deals and alerts announcing holiday travel sales; my brother is just now winding down and preparing to return from a trip to Peru including a trek to Machu Picchu, and he and his girlfriend have been posting daily wanderlust-inciting pictures on Facebook; and I’m in the midst of planning travels for later this year and next year which has me wishing that I could hop on the next plane out of L.A. RIGHT NOW!
Evaluations. That’s a word that just about sums up the month of February in the Bell household. Between work, travel planning, writing, and trying to be a more attuned wife, it’s been a pretty hectic month for me. Lately it seems that I have a neverending, evergrowing to do list and I feel like I’m running on fumes. But in between the long nights and early mornings, Jave and I have been doing a lot of evaluating. And you know what? It’s time for a revolution!
I’m stuffed. Turkey, ribs, cornbread dressing, corn pudding, my mom’s famous broccoli casserole, sweet potato soufflé, and potato salad followed by my nephew’s banana pudding, pecan pie, and ice cream. This Thanksgiving was nothing short of a food fest, and I’m literally on the verge of a food-induced coma as I type this. More
