Last fall, I played hookie from work to go spend the day gallivanting in the mountains with Jave and my parents. Since our trip to Europe last spring, my parents have dubbed me and Jave as their “favorite travel buddies”. In some ways, I think we remind them of themselves. And so they invited us to tag along with them for a quick day trip to Lake Arrowhead.
The trip was my dad’s idea. He loves the mountains, small towns, lakes, and fall foliage. Lake Arrowhead in October fit the bill. I’ve been to Lake Arrowhead many times before in the past; usually with my parents. So it was nice to venture back to the lake and its charming surrounding village nestled in the San Bernardino Mountains about a two hour drive from L.A.
Apart from lunching, snapping photos, and doing a little shopping in the village, we didn’t do much while there. With all of the traveling we did last year, it was refreshing to just get away sans itinerary. The next time around, I’d love to rent a cabin somewhere and unplug for a long weekend.
Until then, I’ll just enjoy my photos from last year’s visit, and I hope you will too…
