Visiting the Lobby of the Emirates Palace
Is it a palace, or is it a hotel?
Let’s just say, the Emirates Palace is a palatial hotel. From its name and the looks of it from the outside, you’d never guess that the Emirates Palace is just a hotel; it’s fit for a sheikh, and the estimated $3 billion it cost to build it is proof enough.
While non-guests are welcome to visit the Kempinski branded Emirates Palace, they’re not allowed beyond the lobby. So during our quick 24-hour visit to Abu Dhabi, we made sure to stop by to see whether this hotel really lives up to the hype. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves…
If and when we ever make it back to Abu Dhabi, I’d love to treat ourselves to a stay in one of the Emirates Palace’s 302 rooms or 92 suites and experience the hotel’s self-professed “beyond 5-star luxury” and service for ourselves. Out of curiosity, I recently searched Expedia to get an idea of how much one night would cost mid-week sometime in October, and the cheapest room is $618/night. Not as bad as I thought. If we ever find ourselves back in Abu Dhabi, maybe we could even treat ourselves to two nights although that would be pushing it. It would definitely be a YOLO-worthy experience.
